Digitizing 4×5 Film
|
For a new book project, and to start digitizing my extensive film library, I’ve been copying my 4×5 transparencies using Lewis Kemper’s KLIC2Copy Film to Digital Copier with my 61MP Sony A7R4. To maximize the resolution, I use Sony’s Pixel Shift camera setting and software to create a 200+gb file. Due to the extreme contrast for some of my captures, I use a 9 frame exposure bracket when copying to see what detail I could recover in the shadows.
The photographs shown here have never been published or rarely seen so it is fun to reveal images I exposed as far back as 1984.
I’ve been posting new work as I go along so check on Facebook or Instagram to follow along!
