I love all your clearing storm images and also “Stones, Montana de Oro,” “Oaks and Fog,” “Redbud and Merced River” and “Dogwood, Yosemite.” It looks like you had a very productive year and I wish you the best in 2022!

Oaks and Fog gets first place easily with me. Its luminous radiance feels so uplifting!
Further, I’m also very pleased by the (usual) abundance of intimate landscapes, which reminds us that we don’t need to be in any especial place or circumstance to create our art.

Thanks Carlos. I hope you are well.

Can never pick just one. But I love the images of trees and or branches in front of the flowing river. So amazing! Thanks for sharing!! ☺️

Thanks very much!

Bill: Seriously, you want us to pick just one? If I was forced to – Cascade Creek, I have a similar image in subject and emotion. Overall I love the lightness and pastel feelings a lot of the images show, I have such a hard time doing the same, I just feel the color stronger inside and fight the lighter side of things. I’ll have to work on that, as I absolutely love that quality in many of those images. A goal for 2022! Can’t wait for the new book. Thanks for sharing 2021!

Good idea, reviewing the own work every year.
Certainly every of the above images made in 2021, is amazing. However, the ones that caught my attention the most are:
1. Redbud and Merced River, Yosemite National Park, California 2021
2. Clearing Spring Storm, El Capitan, Yosemite National Park, California 2021
3. Backlit Pines, Yosemite National Park, Calfornia 2021
4. Oaks and Fog, Yosemite National Park, California 2021
5. Burnt Forest, Yosemite National Park, California 2021
If I was a judge on a photographic competition, I would choose these 😉

Great work in 2021 William. You certainly have a nice collection of images but I think the maple leaves on the Merced is the one that is most outstanding. Perhaps due to the complementary colors but I thing the blurred water helps accent the leaves also.
You help inspire me and I believe others to find the beauty in our nature shots. I also love the inclusion of the birds in sunset shot. Helps to give a good perspective of the scene.

Love the collection, especially Oaks and Fog.
I have long been an admiring of your work. I think I first found it through your Outdoor Photographer column. And I love the Oakhurst-Ahwahnee area. My great uncle used to live there and we had many family reunions at Bass Lake or in Oakhurst, with an obligatory side trip to Yosemite :-). Looking forward to see what images you create in 2022.
