I don’t know about anyone else, but I know that for me,
\nthe beauty of nature is needed more than ever these days.<\/p>\n

From my retrospective book:<\/p>\n

“Seeing and feeling beauty is more vital to me than any
\nresulting imagery. When the key elements of photography\u2014
\nlight, composition, and emotion\u2014are before me,
\nI am fully engaged, yet detached, without expectations.
\nThe magic of my discovery\u2014whether the dramatic light
\nof a clearing storm or an intimate detail on the forest
\nfloor\u2014recharges my spirit with a sense of wonder. The
\nintensity of the experience makes me feel vibrant and
\nalive, the necessary first step to creating a transcendent
\nimage. \u201cBe still with yourself until the object of your
\nattention affirms your presence,\u201d describes Minor
\nWhite. When I view the resulting imagery, I have the
\npossibility of reconnecting with these moments of
\nbeauty. Ultimately, as Minor White defines it, the most
\npenetrating images reveal the essence of the subject for
\nwhat it is . . . and for what else it is.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
